Ingredients to make Rava Upma
Semolina – 1 cup
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Onion finely chopped – 1/4 cup
Rai – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 8-10
Green chili – 2
Carrot chopped – 1
Tomato chopped – 1
Peas – 1 tbsp (optional)
Sugar – 2 tsp
Lemon juice – 2 tsp
Chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp

How to make Rava Upma
To make Tasty and Healthy Rava Upma, first put Rava (semolina) in a pan and dry roast it while stirring on medium flame. After roasting for 4-5 minutes, the rava will turn light pink, after that turn off the gas, take it out in a big bowl and keep it aside. Now put 2 tbsp oil in the pan and heat it on medium flame. After the oil is hot, put mustard seeds in it and let it crackle.

When the mustard seeds start crackling, add urad dal, curry leaves and green chillies and fry for a few seconds. Then add finely chopped onions, carrots, tomatoes and peas and fry while stirring occasionally until the color of the onions turns light brown. After this add roasted semolina in the pan and mix. After roasting the mixture for two minutes, add 3 cups of lukewarm water and salt as per taste and stir with a spoon.

After this cover the pan and let the upma cook for 4-5 minutes. Keep stirring the upma in between. After this remove the lid and add lemon juice and sugar and mix. Tasty Rava Upma is ready for breakfast.
